The best 5 beauty & cosmetic shops near Nagoya station

Risa

All the stores I mentioned are within a 5-minute walking distance from Nagoya Station! Having worked near Nagoya Station for more than 3 years, these are my top 5 favorite shops as far as I know. Some of the stores offer DUTY-FREE, so it’s good news for you guys! 🙂

VITA ヴィータ

I guess not many people know about this cosmetic shop, yet I highly recommend it. Why? They sell high-quality cosmetic and beauty products at up to a 70% discount. The shop offers a variety of international high-end cosmetic brands like Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Estee Lauder, Nars, and L’occitane, as well as domestic brands like SK-II, Kanebo, Kose, Decorte, and Shiseido. I normally check the price here before I go to the official store at Takashimaya department store. If you are looking for hidden gems, this store is the best choice for you.

  • Operation hours: 10:00 to 20:00
  • Location: UNIMALL near entrance U4, next to Starbucks
  • Contact: 052-433-1121

Kira Kira Donki キラキラドンキ

Don Quijote sells pretty much everything, yet Kira Kira Donki focuses on cosmetics, cute goods, and snacks. I feel like Don Quijote targets Generation Z, specifically those in their 10s to 20s. The store has a pink and cute atmosphere, so you’ll really experience Kawaii Japan here.

If you visit Kira Kira Donki, I highly recommend stopping by the dollar shop ‘Daiso’ and exploring a slightly higher-quality brand of Daiso called “Standard products” on the 6th floor, which mostly sells items for 300 yen, including living items.

  • Operation hours: 10:00 to 20:00
  • Location: 5th Floor, Kintetsu Passe
  • Contact: 0570-200-721
  • Website: https://www.donki.com/

DAIKOKU ダイコクドラッグ名駅店

Although this store has a relatively small cosmetic section, it is a very affordable pharmacy and DUTY-FREE shop. Additionally, there’s a small dollar shop located within the store, which adds to the convenience. In fact, most local Japanese people, including myself, buy cosmetics from local pharmacies. My favorite cosmetic brand is Kate; it’s high quality and sustainable. I’ve been using one item for more than 3 years now. Japanese snacks are also inexpensive here, so it would be nice to get some for souvenirs.

TOKYU HANDS 東急ハンズ

Tokyu Hands is a vast section on the 5th floor inside JR Nagoya Takashimaya. There is a wide variety of beauty products and selections. It’s really nice that many cosmetics are displayed, allowing you to try them on before making a purchase.

  • Operation hours: 10:00 to 20:00
  • Location: 5th floor JR Nagoya Takashimaya
  • Contact: 052-566-0109
  • Website: https://nagoya.hands.net/

BIOPLE ビオプル

Biople is a natural, organic, and eco-friendly store. Some items are imported, but the shop also features organic Japanese brands. Although the items are slightly higher in price, I feel much better using eco-friendly and safe ingredient cosmetic brands. My favorite organic cosmetic brand is F Organic and Chant a Charm!

The foods and snacks are also good. If you are an ethical person, you’ll find much joy in discovering some items here.

  • Operation hours: 9:00~21:00
  • Location: B1 Floor, Takashimaya Gate Tower Mall
  • Contact: 052-566-6112

EXTRA OPTIONS

LOFT ロフト

Loft is quite similar to Tokyu Hands, with a wide variety of cosmetic brands on display. The good thing is it’s DUTY-FREE, so you can claim tax-free shopping at the store. Loft is also enjoyable for shopping for stationery. Additionally, if you are interested in cute and reasonably priced kitchen items, I highly recommend stopping by ‘Natural Kitchen,’ right next to Loft.

  • Operation hours: 10:00 to 20:00 (Duty Free by 19:30)
  • Location: 5th floor Men’s building, Meitetsu Department Store
  • Contact: 052-585-7063
  • Website: https://www.loft.co.jp/

MUJI 無印良品

Muji skincare products are actually really good and reasonably priced. Some of my beautiful Japanese friends, especially those with sensitive skin, use Muji skincare for its simple ingredients. The store is relatively large, so you can enjoy shopping not only in the cosmetic area but also throughout the store. Personally, I love Muji stationery, travel items, and clothing for their simple design and reasonable prices.

  • Operation hours: 10:00 to 20:00
  • Location: 6th floor Men’s building, Meitetsu Department Store
  • Contact: 052-588-5860
  • Website: https://www.muji.com/jp/ja/store

Miculi ミクリ

Miculi is also a discount store offering up to 60% off. It’s quite similar to Vita, as I mentioned earlier, where you can purchase international and domestic high-quality cosmetic brands at a lower price. However, I am surprised that the store’s reviews are not good among locals, mainly due to the staff’s attitude. Despite this, I have visited many times and didn’t feel unpleasant at all! 🙂
