While most curry shops in Japan are tailored to Japanese tastes, Eric South is one of the very few restaurants that serve authentic curry and Biryani. Eric South is a very popular restaurant among Japanese yogis (my yoga teacher and mates also love it), and it is also popular among people from South Asia. If you are looking for a vegetarian menu, this is a perfect choice for a casual lunch or dinner!

LOCATION AT ERIC SOUTH
ERIC SOUTH is located on the basement floor of KITTE (JP TOWER). If you come from an underground street, you may see the entrance of BIMI Yokocho. It takes approximately 3 minutes from Nagoya Station by walking. There are two other branches in Kanayama Station and Nagoya Noritake Garden Aeon Mall.
THE DECOR AT ERIC SOUTH
The inside of the restaurant is quite cozy, with standard tables and bar table seats. We brought a stroller inside, but since there were no kids’ chairs, it is not suitable for going with babies or toddlers. I feel that Noritake Garden Aeon Mall has a slightly bigger space.
LUNCH MENU AT ERIC SOUTH
This is one of the lunch menus at Eric South in KITTE Nagoya. The lunch set comes with a soft drink, Lassi, Mango Lassi, iced tea, and Masala Chai. Eric South is one of the few restaurants that serve Biryani, so the Variety Lunch looks good to enjoy with an authentic curry. It’s also nice that you can choose your favorite curry out of 10 options.
The à la carte menu for dinner looks great, and the set menu is not too pricey at all. If I come here next for dinner, I would probably order the ‘Special Dinner Thali.’
WHAT I ORDERD AT ERIC SOUTH
I ordered the ‘OWN 4 CHOICE LUNCH PLATTER’ for 1465 yen. I selected No. 1 to No. 4 for my four curry choices. When I go to Indian and Nepali restaurants, they normally serve naan, so this is kind of a fresh experience for me. I love both, though.
