THE KNOT HIROSHIMA |HOTEL REVIEW

Risa

THE KNOT HIROSHIMA is my highest recommendation if you are visiting Hiroshima for sightseeing. Why? It’s in a perfect location to visit Hiroshima Castle, the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Park, and even the other World Heritage Site of Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima. The hotel itself has stylish modern designs, the rooms are new and clean, and the prices are reasonable, about half the price of other international hotels like Hilton or IHG hotels.

If you’re considering staying because it’s a 3-star hotel or because the accommodation is too cheap, please don’t worry about that! My overall satisfaction is absolutely high, and I will definitely come back to this hotel. You can refer to my review, and I hope this blog post may help one of you make the perfect decision to stay at this hotel, just like me!

ACCESS AT THE KNOT HIROSHIMA

THE KNOT HIROSHIMA is located just a 3-minute walk from Chuden-Mae Station and Fukuromachi Station. It’s only a 10-minute ride from Hiroshima Station by train or bus. You can easily take a taxi from Hiroshima Station, which costs approximately 1,000 yen. THE KNOT HIROSHIMA is the perfect location if you want to visit the world heritage sites “Atomic Bomb Dome” and “Itsukushima Shrine” in Miyajima, as the Hiroshima World Heritage River Cruise pier is nearby. Also, since most tourist destinations are located close to each other in one area, you can easily access them from THE KNOT HIROSHIMA very conveniently. Once again, the location is just perfect if your main purpose is sightseeing and enjoying good food.

HOTEL LOBBY AT THE KNOT HIROSHIMA

The hotel lobby is located on the 14th floor, which is the highest floor of this building. I really love this kind of modern architecture and simple designs. There’s also a wonderful view from the huge window around the corner. You must check out the deck right next to the lobby as well.

I arrived an hour before the check-in time, yet the hotel staff kindly gave me a room key without any extra charge since the room was ready. The good thing is, you don’t have to worry about the language barrier here as the hotel staff can speak perfect English.

The hotel did not require a deposit, so we had to pay the accommodation fee in advance. If you would like to add breakfast, you can simply go to the 1st floor and pay directly. The Knot Stand, which provides amenities such as cotton buds, cotton pads, toothbrush kits, coffee pads, and corn, is available on the 1st floor and the 14th floor, so you can pick up whatever you need.

“KNOT HOUR” AT KEI

I received 6 Knot Coins upon check-in, which we can redeem for small finger foods, sweets, tapas, and drinks. You can enjoy perfect evening cocktails at the rooftop as well as the hotel lobby at the KEI on the 14th floor. “The KNOT HOUR” starts from 14:00 to 23:00. The alcohol can be redeemed for 4 Knot Coins, depending on what you order, and every cup of food is redeemed for 2 Knot Coins.

The Knot Coin was included in the accommodation price of my booking, but if it is not included in your booking, you can simply pay 1,000 yen for 5 Knot Coins.

MORETHAN AT THE KNOT HIROSHIMA

MORETHAN is an all-day dining restaurant located on the first floor. I was pleasantly surprised to see that both lunch and dinner times were also crowded when I walked by. I had breakfast at MORETHAN the next day, so please refer to my blog for more details. I absolutely loved it! ♡

Breakfast Review: MORETHAN at THE KNOT HIROSHIMA

GUEST ROOM AT THE KNOT HIROSHIMA

SUPERIOR KING – CITY VIEW WITH PEACE BOULEVARD SIDE

  • The room size: 25㎡
  • The bed size: 160cm x 200 cm
  • Amenities: Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Soap, Hand Soap, 2 bottles of water, Pajamas, Hair Dryer, Air & Fabric Mist, Electronic Kettle and Air Purifier with humidifier function.

The guest room is new and very clean since the hotel opened just a few years ago. Additionally, the room is bigger and much cheaper than other international hotels nearby. The accent color behind the bed is so pretty, and I really love this kind of modern design, which makes me feel comfortable. The hotel staff gave me a room on the highest floor of the guest room, so the view from the window is absolutely great during both the day and night, with cars and the train on the road bustling in and out. You could possibly request a higher floor depending on availability.

As for amenities, the pajamas provided are skirt types, and honestly, they’re not very comfortable to sleep in, though they’re nice to have for room wear and convenient for travelers looking to minimize what they bring during travel.

I absolutely love the fabric mist, and the smell is good as well. If you noticed, there was no phone in the guest room. However, you can request extra towels at the hotel lobby. If you stay more than 2 nights, room cleaning is quite simple, involving only picking up trash and changing towels. If you want a deep cleaning in the room, you have to pay an extra 300 yen and must request it from the hotel staff by 12:00 on the day.

This could be one reason why the accommodation fee is incredibly reasonable. However, I would be much happier if they provided this simple service and could still offer a reasonable price for guests. The hotel is considered a 3-star hotel, but I am confident in saying that it’s more like a 4-star hotel, just like other international hotels nearby.
