The best burger in Nagoya ｜ THE CORNER Hamburger & Saloon

The Corner Burger is an authentic burger shop, and absolutely the No. 1 burger in Nagoya. It’s no surprise that The Corner Burger is consistently listed among the top 100 burgers in Japan, as recognized by the popular Japanese gourmet website called Tabelog. You can customize your burger to suit your preferences and create your own original masterpiece. Lunchtime is especially popular, so making a reservation is a must!

The Corner Burger is located a little far from Nagoya Station, approximately a 15-minute walk away. If you’re coming from Kokusai Centre Station, you can cut the distance in half. However, honestly, walking in Nagoya for 15 minutes is not tough, as it’s interesting to explore the surroundings.

I used Google Maps along the way, but I personally don’t recommend walking through small alleys, as there are still many cars going in and out. The best route is to use the main road of Dainagoya Building, go straight for 5 blocks, then turn left and continue until you reach the location.

As it’s the name of the restaurant, THE CORNER BURGER is located at the CORNER! The interior of the restaurant is quite cozy, with a few tables and bar counters. If you choose the bar counter, you can watch them cook right in front of you! There is also a wide selection of worldwide beers available at the counter.

The lunch menu is more reasonable than the dinner menu, offering a choice between the Hamburger Set or Taco Rice Set. Obviously, I chose the burger set, which comes with a healthy, fresh salad, and a drink. Additionally, you can customize your burger to make it unique according to your preferences! The best part is that you can choose a beer for without an additional charge. As far as I know, this doesn’t typically happen in Japan, as beer is usually excluded from lunch set drinks.

I ordered the Natural size burger lunch set with additional toppings of bacon, egg, and smoked cheese to complete ‘THE CORNER BURGER,’ served with fries as a side dish.

Having tried many burgers overseas, my honest review is that THE CORNER BURGER is the best burger I’ve ever had in the last 30 years! It’s absolutely the best in Nagoya. What makes it so good? They grill the 100% beef patties on the grill, using one of the most popular Japanese Black Beef varieties called ‘Kurogewagyu’ from Miyazaki.

RESERVATION HERE – The restaurant is quite cosy, and I highly recommend to book a table in advance unless you visit there at opening time.
